Joints in Simulation! Dev Blog #63

Simulation is planned to launch this week! We just have a little more work to do before it is ready. Not only will this be the first time you’ll see your vehicles and machines moving, but it will also be the first step in removing a PRE from the PRE-PRE-PRE-PRE-PRE-ALPHA status of the public build.


The next build will be the PRE-PRE-PRE-PRE-ALPHA!


We’ll be removing a PRE everytime we hit a major milestone in the games development, we felt that simulation warranted that honor! We have several other major milestones for features and I’m sure many of you will be able to guess what some of them are!


Now, onwards to today’s dev blog, and something that we haven’t really spoken about since we started this journey with Techblox. The joints have been usable for ages, but they will come to life in the next update.



Here are some of the fun things that you can do with joints:


First up is the Ball joint where we’ve got two vehicles to play Tug Of War!


Next up is the Universal joint which was used to place a trailer on the back of a vehicle


We then wanted to show off the telescopic joints in action, these extend and retract. So we wanted to see what a vehicle looked like with only front wheel drive!



And finally, we decided to show off the Axle... Don’t ask why we did this!


And that’s it for today! We will be releasing a new build THIS WEEK which features Simulation and loads of new parts and features. We hope you’re as excited as we are and we can’t wait to see all of your vehicles and machines in action!
